The documentary “Mobile School Travels” premieres in Athens as part of the Children and Teenage Film Festival. It will be screened at the Danaos Cinema on Sunday 22 November at 12 am. It is a short documentary film directed by Loukas Paleokrasas and produced by the Ladies’ Union of Drama-H.O.H. that tells the story of the life of Roma children who live in the Philippou camp of Drama and work on the streets. It was filmed during the educational project “Mobile School Travels”, which was implemented within the framework of the Active Citizens Fund project, with the Association of Ladies of Drama-H.O.H. The main objectives of the project “Mobile School” are the elimination of school dropout and illiteracy, the encouragement of Roma children’s participation in educational activities and the strengthening of their self-esteem, objectives that contribute to their psycho-social uplift and the acquisition of basic skills. With these information and awareness-raising actions, this documentary and any future screening of this project, the aim is to inform the public on issues of equality, diversity, racism and human rights.
