The “TIME TO TALK II” project, implemented by Ladies Union of Drama – HOH, continues to successfully develop prevention, awareness-raising, education and support initiatives, making a substantial contribution to combating gender-based violence and promoting gender equality within the local community.
During the second semester of the project, a comprehensive range of interventions was delivered, targeting citizens, students, teachers, professionals, families, survivors of gender-based violence and partner organisations. Three educational workshops were organised for the general public, attended by 46 participants. In addition, nine educational activities were implemented in local schools, engaging a total of 511 students and 37 teachers.
Furthermore, 480 questionnaires were collected from students, providing valuable information for identifying their needs and concerns, while also contributing to the evaluation and further development of the project’s interventions.
At the same time, three meetings of the Regional Network for Combating Gender-Based Violence were held. The Network, established on the initiative of Ladies Union of Drama – HOH within the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, brings together 25 institutional organisations working in the fields of gender-based and domestic violence. Through regular meetings, the Network promotes the exchange of knowledge and experience while strengthening cooperation among frontline professionals.
Particular emphasis was placed on supporting families and individuals affected by gender-based violence. A total of 54 follow-up sessions were conducted with members of 15 families, providing psychosocial support and personalised counselling. In parallel, eight individual meetings were held with survivors of gender-based violence for the assessment, documentation and management of reported cases, ensuring their safe support and referral to the appropriate specialised services.
The results achieved during the second semester demonstrate the strong engagement of citizens, the educational community and partner organisations, highlighting the importance of continuing initiatives of this kind. Ladies Union of Drama – HOH remains fully committed to implementing the project’s activities, with the aim of creating a safe and inclusive community free from all forms of gender-based violence through cooperation, prevention, awareness-raising and timely support for those in need.
The project “Development of Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Combating Actions – TIME TO TALK II” is implemented within the framework of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace 2021–2027 Programme, under the priority “Social Inclusion and Combating Poverty (ESF+)”.
