The Ladies’ Union of Drama – HOH, as co-organizer of the 11th Panhellenic Festival Against School Violence, is actively participating again this year in activities to inform and raise awareness among the student community about the prevention of violence.
As part of the Festival’s activities, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, the team of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – HOH, accompanied by its scientific collaborator Ms. Sevasti Hatzifotiou, Dean of the School of Social, Political, and Economic Sciences at Democritus University of Thrace, visited the 4th Primary School of Drama, where an experiential educational workshop was held with the participation of 35 students. The activity was carried out using a Norwegian educational tool based on cards and pictures depicting different situations and emotions that c Through observing and discussing the cards, the children had the opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings about domestic violence, understand the cycle of violence, and the feelings of fear, guilt, or confusion they may experience. At the same time, the connection between domestic violence and behaviors that can also manifest themselves in the school environment, such as forms of aggression or school bullying, was highlighted. The students participated with great interest, expressing questions and concerns, while ways of dealing with such situations were discussed, with an emphasis on seeking help from trusted adults and cultivating empathy and solidarity. The event ended with a beautiful and touching surprise from the children, who sang a song together, sending a message of love, hope, and optimism for a world without violence. The Ladies’ Union of Drama – HOH continues to implement prevention and awareness-raising activities in schools, contributing to the empowerment of children and the creation of a safe school environment children may experience in abusive environments.
