The “TIME TO TALK” project of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – House of Open Hospitality participated in Athens in the framework of the Scientific Conference on: “Approaches for the Prevention and Handling of Intra-school Violence and Bullying”.
The conference, which took place on 7-8 March 2025 in the Great Hall of the Central Building of the National Academy of Sciences, at the Marasleio Didactical Hall, was organized by the Institute of Educational Policy, the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). The scientific collaborator of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – H.O.H. Dean of the DUTH, Mrs. Sevasti Hatzifotiou, presented the successful programme “TIME TO TALK” as a good practice of prevention and the results she had in more than two years of its implementation.
The programme is continued voluntarily by LUD- HOH and includes educational workshops in school units, aiming at informing and empowering students and teachers on gender and domestic violence, as well as bullying. Since its launch in 2022, the programme has reached 1,602 students in secondary education, while it is gradually expanding to primary education, where 80 children have participated so far.
With a view to creating a safe, equitable and violence-free school environment, actions to promote equality and protection of children and adolescents are being dynamically pursued.
