“TIME TO TALK II” at the Evening Gymnasium & Lyceum of Drama
Tuesday, Oct 21

On Thursday, October 23, at 7 p.m., the “TIME TO TALK II” program, implemented by the Ladies’ Union of Drama, will be held at the Drama Evening Gymnasium and Lyceum.
The program aims to prevent and combat gender-based violence and its forms through comprehensive awareness-raising, information, and support interventions. The action, which will be carried out by the project team, will be experiential in nature, presenting the basic concepts and forms of gender-based violence, as well as interaction with the online game-quiz “Change the plot. Be a gender hero!”. This is an educational role-playing game developed by LUD-HOH as part of “TIME TO TALK I.” The aim is to help victims and potential victims understand what constitutes gender-based violence and what are the early signs and indicators that lead to abuse. The goal is to dispel myths and raise awareness of what a healthy relationship looks like. When the quiz results show that the player is being abused, helplines and important phone numbers are displayed. The quiz also includes questions about abusive and non-abusive behavior scenarios.
In addition, as part of the project, educational workshops continue to be held by the project’s scientific collaborator, Sevasti Hatzifotiou, in middle and high schools in the urban area of Drama on the topic of gender-based violence and recognizing its forms. Specifically, on October 13 and 20, the team visited the 4th High School of Drama. The workshop was attended by 82 first-year students and seven teachers. The aim of the educational workshops was to understand the different forms of violence and to develop prevention skills and ways of dealing with it in the school and social environment.
The project “DEVELOPMENT OF ACTIONS TO PREVENT AND COMBAT GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE TIME TO TALK II” is being implemented within the framework of the “Eastern Macedonia – Thrace 2021-2027” Program and the priority “Social Inclusion and Combating Poverty (ESF+).” The action is co-financed by the European Social Fund and the project is part of the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy of the Municipality of Drama.
